Sox giftwrap series sweep...

Christmas came early this year to the Bronx as the Sox hand over three games. Apparently the Sox left their offense back in Chicago. Despite the loss of Manny, what an awful performance. At least starting pitching held its ground - other than a Damon blooper...

Hats off to the Yanks starters who pitched well enough to win. Let's not get ahead of ourselves Yanks fans - they weren't dominant by any means. With 4+ walks given up by Wang & Clemens, it was the Sox inept bats that are the cause. Your sluggers didn't exactly light up the sky either.
For those of you thinking the Yanks would sweep after this past series, raise your hand... Yeah right. So you must have based that on the 16-0 trouncing in Detroit and the Sox lighting things up in Chicago. Riiiight...
Well, enjoy it while it lasts. It won't last too long - as we've seen all season. You're still down 5 games and you have Seattle coming up. By the way, who is pitching for Mussina these days?
Think the next meeting will be more significant than this one? Try & hold your breath that long... Dare ya...

Thank you for refreshing with another pathetic post.

GET THE BROOMS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a lesson for you not to ever get ahead of yourself. Red Sox fans must be real happy with you right now - you know - jinxing the "no way they'll sweep" thing. With only Ramirez missing from your lineup, your offense was non-existent. Of course, all 3 wins had nothing to do with Yankees being just better than you, it had to with Red Sox giving the wins away as a "gift". Man, you are getting more and more pathetic with each post. I pity the fool:))))

BTW, White Sox record: 57-76. Tigers record: 72-62.

Right, because you can actually affect a teams performance by writing about them. Uh, OK there scooter...

The Yanks were better in this series - but the Sox couldn't have been much worse. But based on the numbers and the entire season, it's clear who the better team really is...

The Yanks feasted on a cupcake schedule until recently - which is why they caught up and then fell back to 8 when they faced some good teams.

Don't buy it? Take a peek at their pitching #'s. Then, compare your rotation to the Sox. Discouraged? Now try the pen...

Enjoy it for a day. Time to put your little broom away & grab the golf clubs. Season's almost over!

Remeber this from May 31st!..you wrote..."Yanks arrive at the Fens with their tails between their legs. They were swept at home and then lost 2 of 3 vs. Toronto dropping them 7 games under .500, 13 ½ back of the Sox, and into last place with the lowly Rays. The ultimate sign of their current state is to hold their $28M man back and not pitch against their bitter rivals. Maybe they should wear yellow uniforms this weekend…

Once again they have the dream of sweep on their minds, but they are in worse position now than the last series. It’s become a must win 3 series to even think about saving their season. Even then, the lead is double digits, they’re still 4 games under .500, and they don’t play the Sox again until late August.".....It's August!

Yes! It's August! (until tomorrow)... The Yanks are still behind!

And the same thing goes for the next Sox - Yanks series. The Yanks will still need to sweep but it still won't do them any good.

Take your sweep. We'll take the playoffs...

A fascinating game yesterday, don't ya think?:))))

Be honest, dude. You must've thought that Boston would win today, you know, with Ortiz up and bases loaded and all. Didn't quite happen for ya did it?

Staff said...

Yup, thought Ortiz was going to get it done once again, didn't you? Would have been justice for that abberation on Fri.

Still happy with the 4 1/2 game lead. How about you?

I don't even care about that. I am just living off of the beautiful picture of discouraged faces in the front row at Fenway Park.

I can see where you get pleasure from the discouraged faces...kind of like when I smile thinking back at all those sad faces in NY after blowing a 3-0 lead in the ALCS series for the worst choke in sporting history? Is that the feeling you get? Nah, I don't think so...that was sweet! I actually still smile everytime I watch a sports show count down the worst chokes in history...something satisfying about knowing our Sox were on the winning side of the #1.

of course not. Nothing will ever compare to Bill Buckner and the rest of 86 years worth of choking.

"Hang on Yanks fans, Detroit is a comin quickly... They managed to hold them off in this series, but watch out."...just what do you really mean here High School boy?

Hey! That young boy is part of the same group of Redsox Fans that attend DevilRay/Redsox games and yell "Yankees Suck". He deserves it.
