Wells, Manny being Manny sink Sox... Rays keep Yanks down again

Where's Waldo? Guess it's just Manny being Manny, episode #982. At least the pen held it together and Remlinger actually got some outs, lowering his era to 20 something... Sox are winless on Ben Affleck's birthday each of the last eight years (stay away from Fenway you jinx!)

Apparently the knock in the head didn't wake Manny up....

On a good note, Ortiz and Ramirez are the first pair of Red Sox teammates ever to hit 30+ home runs, and have 100+ RBI's in 3 consecutive seasons...

Wells was just plain awful in the 1st. He settled down but it was too late as the 6 runs held up. Sox had plenty of chances to win, but just couldn't get a big hit or sacrifice fly when they needed it. (Insert Manny being Manny here - or aka "MBM")

Yanks just can solve Tampa. Yanks are 4-9 vs the Rays and have not won a season series. Leiter can't get out of the 5th inning, and Embree continues to help out the Sox (he hasn't changed uniforms yet). Special thanks to Tanyon Sturtze for officially blowing it...

Here's a great quote from Tampa OF Johnny Gomes: "It just shows the Yankees -- with their history and with their payroll and with their All-Stars -- they're not bulletproof". In between the lines, there's no salaries and no world champions.” (that is since; “YEAR 2000! - YEAR 2000!”) Couldn't have said it better ourselves!!!
